Taking care of your new tattoo
Welcome to RnR's aftercare guide! Following these instructions carefully will ensure your tattoo heals beautifully and maintains its vibrancy. We're here to help you every step of the way. Remember, proper aftercare is just as important as the tattooing process itself.
Cleaning & Moisturizing (First 2-3 Weeks)
Wash gently: Use clean hands and lukewarm water with a mild, unscented antibacterial soap
Pat dry: Gently pat with a clean paper towel; avoid rubbing or using cloth towels.
Moisturize: Apply a very thin layer of fragrance-free lotion or specific tattoo ointment but don't overdo it.
Frequency: Wash and moisturize 1-2 times a day, or as advised by your artist.
What to Avoid (First 2-4 Weeks)
Sun Exposure: Keep it covered with clothing or avoid it completely; sunscreen isn't for fresh tattoos.
Soaking: No baths, pools, hot tubs, or oceans; showers are fine (keep them short).
Scratching/Picking: Let scabs fall off naturally; slap the area gently if itchy.
Tight Clothing: Wear loose, clean cotton clothing over the tattoo to prevent friction and irritation.
Harsh Products: Avoid petroleum jelly (Vaseline),scented soaps, and alcohol.
Over-moisturizing: Too much can hinder healing; a thin layer is enough.
Excessive Sweating/Exercise: Avoid heavy workouts that stretch the skin or cause excessive sweating.
